PA / Junior Crowd AD
We’ve gotten to know Essi through our AD Bootcamp in the summer 2022 and asked her to join the Gang right after. Essi has gathered experience on three longer productions and few shorter ones. She’s completed internships in both production and AD departments and worked as a 3rd Assistant Director in one TV series. During her studies she’s also completed short films as the 1st AD and Producer.
Essi’s duties in her previous positions have included helping out in office work (eg. prepping production documents and assisting Production Coordinator) as well as covering basic PA duties on set. As the 3rd AD she’s focused on managing the cast on set and assisting on all possible running errands. She’s also helped on handling the extras.
One thing everyone seems to agree on is Essi’s great social skills. Besides coming along great with performers she’s been a very liked colleague to other filmmakers. Essi especially enjoys working on set and hosting cast in shooting locations. She’d wish to get more work with crowds in the future and is also interested in assisting on call sheets and other daily paperwork.
Natural next step for Essi is to keep developing her skills by joining larger scale production eg. as the Set, Base or Crowd PA or lighter, local productions as the 3rd or Crowd AD. Currently she’s also dreaming of becoming a Production Coordinator once gaining more experience.
