BBG Junior Program is a 6-month program in which 10 participants are learning more of filmmaking by attending different lectures, visits to multiple production houses and working part-time as interns with the Gang. Each participant gets to focus on a specific area of production or gather knowledge overall in projects and departments during this time. All participants attend 10 + lectures of production process, work safety and basic duties of assistants in the field. Besides these, they’ll be joining our teams for approx. 5-10 days in our office and 5-10 days in film / commercial / TV shoots. Spring 2019 edition of the program is a pilot. Our 10 participants are between ages of 18-28 and come from multiple different backgrounds (as do we).

On a snowy Tuesday morning, Niklas Harju came to visit us at Blockbusters Gang office. He is a Commercial Producer and also Emma’s fiancé. Niklas has a long experience in TV-, media and commercial industry. He has worked in many different assisting positions in productions before, which is something every good producer should do so they can understand every part of the production.
The lecture started by Niklas telling us what it means to be a Commercial Producer. He also told us, how he got into the field and what is his own work philosophy like. The presentation he showed to us included different quotes that described his state of mind at work. Also, one important topic we were told about was problem-solving. He demonstrated this topic by telling examples of challenging situations he has conquered during his career.
The visit by Niklas was overall very inspiring and helped us to understand better what it means to be a Producer.
