ACADEMY

Wisdom is knowing what you don’t know.

We’re fans of further education and continuous learning. In our experience, the regular film education does not cover the details or even all job roles of working in the field on actual, professional productions. The day-to-day work of many people in the film industry contains duties requiring understanding of working laws, general company management and administration. Freelance filmmakers rarely receive any proper introduction to their work from the production companies – everyone is expected to know what they’re doing when hired. This is why we think it’s crucial to have training and mentoring available for all workers. We want to make sure they’re ready for the job when assigned to any project.

We want to encourage companies, organizations and freelancers themselves to look into the opportunities that may evolve.

We offer further training to all our gang members and now to other industry freelancers as well – by ourselves and by other film industry professionals. Our courses vary from year to year, and we offer options for filmmakers at any stage of their career. We’re known for our new-school, hands-on approach and our “field-to-class rooms” knowledge.

The organisations, schools and universities we’ve collaborated with include Aalto University / ELO Film School (FI), Omnia Film Skills education (FI), Academy of Moving People and Images (FI), Frans Schartaus Handelsinstitut (SE), Greenwich University (UK) and FOCAL (CH).
