BBG Junior Program is a 6-month program in which 10 participants are learning more of filmmaking by attending different lectures, visits to multiple production houses and working part-time as interns with the Gang. Each participant gets to focus on a specific area of production or gather knowledge overall in projects and departments during this time. All participants attend 10 + lectures of production process, work safety and basic duties of assistants in the field. Besides these they’ll be joining our teams for approx. 5-10 days in our office and 5-10 days in film / commercial / TV shoots. Spring 2019 edition of the program is a pilot. Our 10 participants are between ages of 18-28 and come from multiple different backgrounds (as do we).

Post Control is a post-production company, located in Helsinki. It is one of the leading post-production houses in Finland. Their services are, for example, film scanning and printing, color grading, offline editing, visual effects creation and sound design.
On February 5, 2019, we visited Post Control company. Tomi Nieminen showed us the company’s office premises and from multiple in-house professionals we learned about different kinds of processes of post-production – such as sound design, colour grading, editing and VFX-work.
The visit was very interesting. It is important to understand what is happening in post-production and that there are a lot of different kinds of specialists working in their own department. It was useful to see examples of the effects of post-production on films which were shown to us.

“I’m 20 years old student from Helsinki. I graduated from high school in 2017 and from Helsinki Business College in 2018. I’m currently studying photography and visual journalism at HEO folk high school. I’m also participating BBG Junior Program (Spring 2019 edition) to achieve more knowledge and understanding of the industry. The program includes some training days in the office and in couple short shoots. I’m motivated, hardworking, self-imposed and conscientious. My systematic and pressure resistance are emphasised in the work environment. I’m interested in the process of filmmaking. In the future, I would like to work first as an Intern and later in more responsible positions in production department. I’m used to work with Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. I can use Adobe Illustrator and InDesign for simple tasks. I speak Finnish as my mother tongue and I have studied English and Swedish for years. However, I want to improve my skills in the future.”
