One step closer to my future career

I’m looking forward for my first trip to Cannes, but at the same time I am nervous. This is actually the first time for me to travel on my own. I’ll be the first one to arrive to Cannes. I’m still sure that everything will end out fine and after this I won’t have to be so nervous about travelling alone.

Even though I consider myself a social person, the little introvert inside me is a bit terrified. During this trip I will meet a lot of new people all the time which is – as I said – a little bit terrifying but at the same time really fun and the thing I am probably looking forward the most!

I always try to push myself out of my comfort zone and this trip is going to be one of those things to really push me. Our trip is mainly about promotion, hosting and organizing events for clients and helping people with any sorts of festival emergencies. I’ll be working as an assistant during my stay in Cannes so I have to be prepared for anything.

I’ve always been interested in pitching, selling and promoting so I’m looking forward on getting experience on that. On a personal level I hope to get more self confidence and independence and on a professional level to get more experience especially in pitching. We are doing daily promo walks to promote BBG:s festival service and I am sure it’s the perfect opportunity to get the experience that I need.

Editor’s note: right after writing this Vilma was challenged by CEO Emma to participate in pitching draw competition in Scandinavian Terrace. Only one card was picked up and the winner got a chance to pitch themselves in front of all guests. Lucky winner for the night was our Cannes first-timer Vilma! First challenge won for the trip for sure!
